We all don't like rules, they tend to suck the fun out of everything, but to make sure everything moves smoothly for everyone during the season, rules are a must. So I'll try to keep it limited and free from micromanagement, because I don't like it any better than anyone else here.
The rules for this section will be quite different from the rest of the forum, since this is an extended event, there needs to be some rules overall and during races, including proper sportsmanship (though, I'm sure we are all mature enough to exercise the latter here, I'm just covering my bases). Some of the racing rules are being adapted from our friends in NoDo and some others are being adapted from the flag system. The rest is how to post in these threads, and how to act with your fellow competitors. The rest is from the community guidelines here: The Bullshifters Rules and Conduct.
Adherence to all of these rules and regulations is a must, insubordination will not be tolerated and can result in being kicked from the season.

Adherence to all of these rules and regulations is a must, insubordination will not be tolerated and can result in being kicked from the season.
General Rules:
- Use the Golden Rule: Treat others the way you want to be treated. General respect for all is great, especially when we have an open season for other crews to join in on, showing respect toward one another is a must.
- Limit on shit-talking. I'm not going to eliminate this completely, because sometimes, a show of camaraderie is the occasional ribbing and light insults. Just don't go overboard because it can get offensive real quick.
- Griefing, of any kind, will not be tolerated. Anyone caught griefing, either here on the the forum, or during any race/meetup post show. Will be subject to not only the rules here, but the overall community rules of the Bullshifters, which could lead to a ban not just from racing, but also from the crew.
- Once you enter a weekly race, you are locked in for the rest of the season, but don't be afraid of missing 1 or 2 races. Just don't make a habit out of it, otherwise your overall score will suffer.
Section Rules:
- Qualification:
Three lap maximum for qualification. Post both total track time and your best lap time for qualification, these will determine start positions for Sundays Race.
EDIT: Qualifying will now be done half an hour before the race start in a non-contact race with everyone at the same time to avoid sniping times on Sunday. - If you are, for whatever reason, unable to make Sunday's Race, it is encouraged that you post a full track attempt for points, though those will be worth half as much as those on race day. Still better than a zero for the week.
- When posting your times, please keep it in the same post. This makes it way easier to find your times and record them. It is to your benefit to keep all attempts in the same post as I can, and probably will, miss a time if it is not in your original post for each thread. You may make other posts during the open time of the thread for discussion.
- Everyone must record their qualification time. This helps identify and prevent any cheating. Anybody caught cheating will have a "0" for the week.
- Par times are also an anticheat measure. Track threads will not be open until the Par time is set by the Racemaster.
- Please Adhere to the following format when posting your track and best lap times:
Crew Name: Crew Symbol: Track Time: Best Lap Time: Car Used: [Crew Name] [CREW] mm:ss.xxx mm:ss.xxx [insert car]
Yes, I will be keeping track down to the millisecond, because that can determine a person's place in a race. A close finish can literally come down to the millisecond. - You can only post up to 5 different qualification times. This is to help eliminate data overflow.
- Be patient! There is no algorithm that finds and organizes the best times for everyone. This takes time, so the official results will take time.
- You do not need to participate in the Sunday Showdown. There is a reason we have a points system, and that is to be able to exceed the lobby participation limit in game. But I do suggest racing with a friend to keep things interesting, as these are long races.
- No shitposting about car choice or how bad someone is doing. As well, avoid false accusations of others race times, as that can delay things further.
- Once a thread is locked, that signals the end of the week, and that track can no longer be visited for the season. Any time made after the lock will not count. The lock will be after the Sunday Showdown.
Racing Rules:
- Contact must be on for the race. It is also recommended to be in a GTA style race so you can get the repair pickup for your car without having to reset at a checkpoint.
- Do not use weapons/explosives to get an edge. You will be kicked for the week if you do.
- Do not use any other pickups other than repair.
- No intentional bashing, smashing, PITing, or any form of crashing is allowed. If someone is suspected to be intentionally ruining others' chances, they will be given a Black Flag Penalty.
- Accidental Rubbing and bashing can happen for a number of issues, from just not paying attention, to flat out latency issues. Accidental crashing will not be punished, but will be recommended to keep them to a minimum.
TeamSpeak will be required for those who will participate for the Sunday Showdown each week. TS is also recommended to be used for those recording their track times for better coordination with one another. If you do not have TS, go here:The NoDo TeamSpeak 3 Server
EDIT: We will now be using the new Discord Server For Sunday Showdowns from now on. It is a much simpler system, and a much easier one for people to sign up for. So, if you do want to participate in Sunday's Race, make sure you are signed up for the Bullshifters Discord server. If you do not know what that is, go to the following link and it will take you to the Discord thread -> Bullshifters Discord Server- Flag System:
- Yellow Flags may be called if there happens to be some sort of calamity is afoot. If a yellow flag is called, the race is considered to be stalled and no one shall gain or lose their position, just meet up with the rest of the pack, keep pace with everyone else until the green is called again.
- Red Flags, hopefully rare, can be called if a dispute over some sort of accident or calamity. If a Red Flag is called, everyone MUST stop where they are. Anyone not adhering to the red flag will be given a Black Flag Penalty. The time for the Red Flag will be monitored closely so it can be subtracted from the overall track time.
- Black Flags have a 30-second penalty for the first offence in the race, 60 second penalty for the second offence, and race disqualification for the third (disqualification can equal "0" points for the week).
- Blue Flags will be issued for those about to be lapped. If you are about to be lapped, let the one lapping you pass unhindered.
- White flags signal the last lap
- Driving the wrong way will result in a red flag, and an instant kick from the race. May also lead to a ban for the season as well.
- Absolutely no game mods. This is including the wheelie mods and race mods. Being caught with mods will result in a disqualification for the season and a possible ban from The Bullshifters.
- Don't get back on the track as fast as you can if you are knocked off the track, it can cause a wreck with others and will result in a yellow flag. Be respectful of those around you.
- Overtaking cleanly is a must. Try not to rub against others, especially in turns. If someone is overtaking you into a turn, you should let them, to prevent a crash.
- Blocking is allowed, but don't be overly aggressive about it, it can result in a yellow flag.
- Don't be afraid of not finishing. If you have posted other times through the week, but do not finish the Showdown, that DNF will not hurt you.
- It is recommended, that once a race is started, you are in it for the whole duration, no rage quitting.
- Motorcycle Races: No wheelies/unfair advantage
- Please, under no circumstances, will you use any of the following cars. They are banned for a reason and using them in a race (following June 5th 2016) will result in a DQ for the race, and a "0" in points for the week.
