Yeah it had already started, what you should do for next time is add the host and join their game when the event is due to start.
We are starting to do it this way because the invite system is crap at the moment.
If you have any problems joining the host on the event's start time, just send them a R*SC message and they can send you an invite from there.
Just remember, we're using closed crew sessions so you must have "BULL" as your active crew to be able to join.
