October 15th:What person hasn't heard of AC/DC? They are one of the top 100 artists of all time according to Billboard, and were considered one of the beginning bands to start the metal movement back in the early 1970s. Coming straight from Sydney, Australia, AC/DC is a quintessential band for any hard rock and metal collection. They are one of the very few bands from the rock explosion of the 70s that are still playing to this day. Though, they have experienced multiple lineups changes, including two frontman changes. But I will only be covering the Bon Scott era and the the Brian Johnson era of the band, especially since the Axl Rose era is still very new. Bon Scott era (1974 - 1980):It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Want to Rock 'N' Roll) [1974] High Voltage (1974) T.N.T (1974) Brian Johnson era (1980 - 2016):Back in Black (1980) Shoot to Thrill (1980) Who Made Who (1986) Hells Bells (1986) Thunderstruck (1990) Personal Note: This is the first band that really got me interested in heavy music. I still remember hearing it on the radio in the car with my parents when I was 6 years old, coming home form the cinema. The song was Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap. Funny thing is, it turns out that both of my parents were some old school hard rockers and metal heads. I remember that they got me a tape cassette to listen to of AC/DC's concert from 1992 as a Christmas present. That tape was the first of many explorations into hard and heavy music, explorations that I still go on 20 years later. This is a special band in my heart and history. And I'm glad I could share a bit of that history with you.
