I think the reddit guys are right. I've officially tried everything. The emblem can not be removed. Rockstar has responded to my bug report as well. I haven't been able to pull a lot of info from them as of yet though.

So Rockstar is aware of the issue, and they also cannot tell us when they will fix it. FYI.

well if you dont mind loseing some money you could always sell and rebuy the cars depending on how expensive the car is then i dont think you would lose that much for the cheaper cars When you have a bugged car, sell it and then purchase another one to replace it, the emblem comes on the replacement car. The game just re-applies it. There is no getting around it. ::EDIT:: So I just figured this out... it's not the vehicles that the emblem is tied to, it's the garage slot. If you sell a vehicle and then buy a replacement and tell the game to place the vehicle in that same slot, you'll end up with the crew logo again. However, if you sell the glitched vehicle and then block that garage slot with something else (Like a vehicle that has no crew logo option, or a vehicle that already has the logo applied intentionally), then buy a replacement vehicle you'll get a car without a crew logo. The major thing this depends on is, when you buy a vehicle: you must have a garage slot available for it that has never held a vehicle with a crew logo. Further, you must be sure the game will be forced to place the vehicle in that garage slot. Otherwise you will be stuck with the logo again. Also, the glitch is not immediately apparent. It happens once you login to the game for the first time after the vehicle purchase. I just tested this and successfully got a T20 without a logo. Also to verify, I moved a vehicle that already had the logo applied and ordered a Ruffian to "fill that slot" (lol). When the Ruffian first appeared, no crew logo... however as soon as I logged out of GTAO and then logged back in, the crew logo was on it. Again, the game seems to apply it upon your first login after the new vehicle has been ordered. Once that happens, you're hosed if you don't want it.
