There's going to be a Cross-Platform for GTA Online soon. Cross-Platform means 2 or more platforms playing in the same servers. Is already confirm that Xbox One and PC are going to be part of it. Microsoft is currently talking to Sony about having the PS4 a part of it as well. If they accept, A Platform War might start. If you want to be part of this, You must have Windows 10 installed on your PC. Thank you for reading this and have a good day. Cross-Platform

Also you do know GTA Online currently uses P2P connections and there are no dedicated servers right?

I would also like to hear the source for this. I've heard about XOne and Win 10 users being able to play with each other but the only game I've heard of getting multi platform support is Rocket League, I haven't heard anything about GTA Online getting that

Bad news for console gamers. Welcome to the world of shitbags destroying your stuff.
Anyway, I really hope this is fake. They barely have a functioning service for one platform alone, nevermind 3 different platforms all in one session.

Hmm... I don't see this happening unless R* puts everything on dedicated servers. But there is also a problem here as well. There could be a problem of transferred data, if they do find a way to do it with P2P network setup.
I'm not going to complain, mostly because it could bring over PS4 encryption to PC which would blackout modders on GTA:O for a time. I just see a few problems with how it would work with the current infrastructure of the game. Especially with characters transferred from consoles to PC. And the type of infrastructer that would be adopted for the whole shebang.
EDIT: I don't think the Update Board is the right place for this thread, so I'll be moving it to the General GTA Board.

Microsoft will allow Xbox gamers to play against PS4 and PC playersI just happened across this. The jist of it looks to be that Rocket League will be the test bed for this cross platform tech. However it's not the type of thing where someone somewhere throws a switch and suddenly everyone everywhere will be able to play any game together across all platforms. The game must be written to support this while in it's development cycle, or the publisher will need to get on board after the fact and patch the game. Since neither Take 2 or Rockstar has come out and claimed this to be an inevitability for GTAOnline, I'd say right now the idea of playing on PC against someone on the Bone is fairly far off. Still, this will likely be a more common thing as this generation of games continue to evolve. This will also open up a can of worms for shooters. Your going to have people who are locked to a game pad, and people who are not. If something like this really does come about, hopefully it will force console support for mice and keyboards.

That was my point exactly, and put more eloquently. There has to be a reworking of the games code to retroactively allow cross-platform play, other wise it won't work, or there may be some serious problems that could happen. I hope they add mouse and keyboard support, and hopefully this will also give PC support to the PS4 controller. That would be lovely for GTA:O so I don't have to start up another driver that may turn off at some point in the game. If Take-Two and R* do that for GTA:O, I hope they get all their ducks in a row and fix the network issues with it. Otherwise it will make the game unplayable in some instances.
