Greetings fellow Bullshifters! I am proud to announce the newest asset to our little group with our very own Voice Chat server on Discord! It is a surprisingly simple little app that seems to use less resources than Teamspeak! Signing up is simple and easy, and it even saves the servers you visit and are members of, which helps getting connected much easier. It also allows you to run the app in a browser, as well as a stand alone app, and even on mobile devices. This server also has a very good game overlay, and even recognizes pretty much all games. Without further to do, I give you the link of our very own server. The Bullshifters Home Server
This will not replace TS entirely, but should help with our own events and should minimize the amount of problems we have connecting with each other.
In order to join our server, you will need to set up a Discord account if you haven't already. Signing up is pretty easy, it is basically setting up a username, password, and entering your email address so your account is verified. Once that is done, you should be able to join the server. Do keep in mind, security is set a little high, so messaging privaleges are not given for several minutes, or until you are assigned to a server group by an admin/moderator.
There are different groups in this server obviously, and it is mostly set up via Socialclub crew ranks, minus those who are admins and moderators on the forums. There are a few groups that are groups related to activities that we do, like the Bullshifters Pro League (which has the BPL Race Official group tag). And this will continue to change as we grow and expand out to other areas of gaming.
Other than that, if you have any questions, feel free to ask them here, and I will make sure to answer them to the best of my abilities.
Hope you all enjoy, and I look forward to seeing you all on Discord!
Game on, my friends, game on!
::EDIT::
If you sign up for Discord can you please post your Social Club name and the name you're using on Discord so we know who you are.
Cheers,
Jamie.
::EDIT 2::
Due to some security concerns, and some exploits happening with some Discord Add-Ons, I have activated additional security measures on the server. The 2-Factor Authentication protects a user's signin token from unwanted individuals. But to first sign-in, you may need a smart phone and download either one of these apps; Google Authenticator and Authy.
If you do not have a smart phone, refer to the quote below:
A popular one is WinAuth, which can be found at: winauth.com/
Instructions:
There is nothing to install per say, mainly just extracting the contents to wherever it will be kept.
Make sure to put a password on WinAuth for extra security.
Also can be encrypted to the system as well if the app is going to only used for one PC.
Open WinAuth, click add Google. Change the name at the top to Discord(or whatever you like) like so:
On Discord, copy the 16 digit code and paste that in the secret code location on the picture above. Click Verify Authenticator and QUICKLY type the code that appear onto the 6 digit spot on Discord 2FA. Do not worry if the time expires, it can be refreshed.
Make sure to click OK when you are done to save this to the application.
I like to have it on a clean, reliable USB drive that I can carry with me if I need it on the go.
Thanks,
Az
