In the wake of E3, and considering that in the next few months the holidays are coming up, an with them, holiday releases, I was wondering, besides GTA, what games and game genres do you like? And what games are you waiting for?
For me, I like games that have good stories. I am more of an adventure and RPG gamer. I also like racing games as well, mostly GranTurismo and NFS.
Recent Plays:
Fallout 3 and New Vegas, Skyrim, The Last of Us, MotorStorm, NFS Shift and Shift 2, and MGS
Games I am looking forward to:
Fallout 4, Cyberpunk 2077 (whenever it does come out -_-), Need for Speed, Deus Ex Mankind, Uncharted 4, Mirror's Edge Catalyst, and Mass Effect Andromeda.
So, what do you all play?

When I first started playing games, I had the PS2 console more than 10 years ago. One of my first ever games were Metal Gear Solid, Burnout and this one racing game that I have forgotten the name of. Soon, I started to like racing games after I got Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition for the PSP. Not only did I play that on the PSP, but I also played my first ever GTA Game there too, which was Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories. After I got my first ever Xbox 360, I played Saints Row 1 and 2 A LOT. Those were two of my favorite games last time. Coming into 2011, I was into FPS Games like Call of Duty, Battlefield and Medal of Honour. Back in 2012, I was really obsessed with playing Black Ops 2 multiplayer. I would often turn it on at 7am in the morning and play it 'till 2pm. After taking a nap and doing other things, I would turn it back on and play Black Ops 2 until I feel tired. I remembered getting to Prestige Level 2 and accomplishing my objective of getting a Gold Camo for my MP7. It really wasn't easy.. Nowadays, I play Fifa and GTA 5, nothing much in my Steam and Origin library.. I actually have a lot of games but most of them are uninstalled. Here's my Recent Plays: Fifa 15 Grand Theft Auto 5 Games I'm looking forward to: Fifa 16, Need For Speed, Fallout 4, Just Cause 3.

World of Warcraft--played it pretty regularly since the end of vanilla until a couple days after GTAO came out for PC. I was a holy paladin. Haven't really played since I got into GTAO.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic--played a little bit of this a couple years ago with Ed.
Guild Wars--played this a little bit with my mom and sister when I took occasional "breaks" from World of Warcraft.
Quake III--played this on and off with Ed and my brother back in '99 to early 2000's.
Before all that it was mostly the old console games, like Frogger on Atari, Super Mario Brothers on NES, Sonic the Hedgehog on Sega Genesis....LOL.
My favorite games to play are MMOs. I like the team effort and social interaction of them.

Well, I'm a 90's kid so my first love as far as a "game with friends" title would be Doom. I'm pretty excited for the next iteration of the franchise. I still play the original Doom games to this day (I sort of pretend Doom 3 never happened). It's pretty much the best shooter that there has ever been, IMO. The Half-Life series runs a close second for the single player campaign. I do like games with a story, but I really appreciate a game that allows the player to improvise solutions and challenges them to think their way out of a situation. Doom had some great maze like levels later in the game, and the Half-Life series (the first one especially) was great at challenging the player to find their way out of a spot rather than putting arrows on the screen and shouting commands at you like some Call of Modern Warfare titles do.
I also loved Quake III Arena. I can put down some frags in that one. Everything just feels fluid and "right" when playing that game.
For modern games I did really like the Mass Effect series. Despite the third one's ending, and it's simple level design. The story and the characters were just great. Really well written up until the end. Dishonored was another great title that didn't get near the fanfare it should have. It reminded me a lot of the original Thief games, but like they were put on steroids. The latest Deus Ex game Human Revolution was a pretty great title as well, and I have started playing the latest Wolfenstein games, but as good as New Order seems to be, I still haven't managed to care enough about it to get all the way through it.
I also enjoy racing titles. I really liked the first four Need For Speed games. Mainly due to the modifications that EA used to let us implement. NFS: High Stakes especially was an amazing LAN party game. Loading up a track were everyone had cars with modified mass that would send traffic vehicles flying out of sight into the air, then sitting back and watching the replays at the end of the night was a hilarious way to pass the time.
I also really enjoyed the Flat Out and Burnout series for it's arcade style and crashing mini games. For more of a simulation I got into Forza quite a bit. I've really been meaning to check out Bugbear's Next Car Game (now called Wreckfest). Going way back I was a fan of Street Rod 1 & 2 as well as Stunts Driving. Stunts had an amazing track editor that let you build your own stunts and terrain. Unfortunately the graphics are pretty out dated now. lol.
Mainly though, GTA. V is unfortunately my least favorite of the series. The environment is excellent, but the single player story is just bad. The three protagonist thing only makes it worse. There is no sense of connection or consequence to anything that happens in that campaign. Not to mention the arbitrary limitations in some of the missions that were never present in previous GTA titles. For the audio, the "dynamic score" completely kills the user track player to the point where I just have the in game music muted and run winamp in the background to compensate. I don't think I even need to bring up the ridiculously buggy cover, combat and melee systems. Or the horrible support and price gouging of the online portion of the game. Still, it's GTA.
For atmosphere and sheer fun level it's hard to beat GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas. I really liked IV as well.

My first console was the Super Nintendo which was given to us from some family friends and the only two games I can remember from that was Yoshi's Island and Darius Twin! Man, did we play the fuck out of those games!! I can still remember their songs The first console I bought was the N64 with Mario Kart 64 and Star Wars Pod-racing. Next was PS2 and GTA Vice City, Still the best GTA and still think they need to revisit Vice City soon! Also had some great racing games like Burnout Takedown, Juiced and Midnight Club DUB Edition. PS3 was next and got GTA IV then eventually V; Personally found IV to be a little boring, liked the realistic feel of it, little less arcady than past GTAs and even GTA V. Again had racing games like Grand Turismo 5. Started my CoD experience with MW2, Still the best CoD by far, and I have played everyone since.. Despite what people say I really enjoyed Advanced Warfare BUT please!! FFS!! GIVE US DEDICATED SERVERS!!!!! At the moment on my PC I play GTA V, (Completed the Story 4 times total across PS3, PS4 and PC)!!.. Yeah I know.. I liked it! haha. Also really loving Rocket League, The Wither 3, Life is Strange with honorable mentions to Far Cry 4, the entire Assassins Creed series and other assorted games like Magicite, FTL and Starbound. Looking forward to Star Wars BattleFront, Assassins Creed Syndicate and Need for Speed! (I might have already pre-ordered this )

Just that the games you played on your PS2 were played on my PSP. I remembered playing Burnout Takedown on PSP back when I was in school and I was still quite young, about 12 years ago. People were watching me play it because it's not that common to see a student bring a PSP to school. So you can say that I was the cool kid back then.

Usually I'm not one for mobile games, but I've been playing a bit of Fallout Shelter. Never knew I'd like a management game so much! Though, I may not like as much if it weren't set in the Fallout Universe. Also, been playing GTA Online grinding characters, getting a list of attributes for each race-able car, because the stats (from R*) for each car don't really tell the whole story, and gathering them through my 20-mile race, Test-Drive Ultimate. May post a graphic of some sort of infographic as a rating system for each one.
Also, less than a month before Fallout 4 comes out, quite excited, but may have to wait until I can upgrade my PC -_-
