and if daylight ever shows up. Is it dark all the time in this game? I can't find any daylight shots. It's only night time, there's no day time in the game, atleast as far as I know Yeah that's the conclusion I've come to as well. It looks like we get dusk and dawn but that's about as bright as it gets. Man though... these cutscenes, these characters. Holy shit. The "master mechanic" in the garage is a chick that looks like she's about 19. Where exactly did she pick up these super elite skills? Was she changing the oil on her mom's boyfriend's Honda when she was 7? The club scene, the other racers. Dude. I was cringing so hard I swallowed my teeth, bae. I mean, I'm gonna play it, but Jesus. It's like a twelve year old developed this shit. It makes the story in The Fast and The Furious look like Oscar material. Sorry guys, but damn. The customization and the racing had better be top notch if it's going to overcome the bits of video we have to sit through. What's up with that Hawaiian dude's hair? He looks like the business end of a clitoral simulator. Also, it totally looks like I'm stuck with a Fox Body Mustang. Bleh.

What's up with that Hawaiian dude's hair? He looks like the business end of a clitoral simulator. I died laughing at this line. XD But, in all seriousness, the NFS series, since Underground, has had a weird thing about darker lighting, though the story was never really deep, and the characters are as two-dimensional as a Square on a piece of paper, it has always been pretty good to get sucked into. I'm looking forward to the reboot, as it seems the Underground story kinda went off the rails in the more recent games (Carbon, Undercover) It had a pretty good continuous story line about street racing. Yeah, it makes the F&F series seem to to be cinematic gold, but it was fun nontheless. Heck, I the only reason I still have my PS2 is so I can go and play NFS Most Wanted from time to time. Considering this is a reboot, I wonder where, and how far, they are going to take the current story. Which makes me more interested, hopefully there is more development than the characters of previous games. That said, I am hoping they bring traditional Muscle cars back, most likely in the form of paid DLC, as I'd like to get my hands on a '69 Charger, which has always been a big winner (literally) for me in the series. And, who knows, maybe they'll add a daytime DLC as well, considering it's from EA, either they'll never do it, or make it an expensive DLC. It really is just a matter of waiting for this series. This being said, I can't wait till I'm able to pick up my copy.

I actually liked Most Wanted quite a bit. That was the first NFS game to really put free roam and police chases together well. Sorry, I'm not really trying to pick the new game apart. I was just really taken back by those cutscenes. I'll get over it. lol

Hahaha they are trying with the cutscenes.. maybe too hard Knowing EA there'll be DLC coming with hopefully those classic muscles you want Ed! I pre-ordered mine a month or two ago and I'm not even mad they delayed it.. given me time to get a controller AND if they're making it work better then I won't complain Soo excited!

I got what you were saying Ed. I just may have let my avid fandom get in the way I was saying. This is one of two series that I still play from my childhood, the other being Pokemon... Sorry, if I sounded defensive, that was not what I intended it to sound like.
Jamie, I fully agree, considering games like Shift, Shift 2, Prostreet, The Run, and so on, it actually makes sense that EA would continue their process of adding Muscle Cars, along with other Tuners and Exotics down the line. We just gotta wait. On a side note, I am thinking of getting it for PC sense I was able to get a DualShock 4 controller working for the PC. Only time will tell. But if I have to make a choice in the immediate future between Fallout 4 and NFS, I'm more inclined to pick Fallout 4 due to its modding potential.

Oh no, I didn't feel like you were being defensive. I just kinda felt bad for comin' into a topic that's thus far been mostly positive and being "that guy". I didn't intend to rain on the parade man. Like I say I'm going to be getting it, though it will be for PC. I'll be anxious to get to the racing. Looks like I've got a longer wait though.

It's no problem dude. You weren't raining on the parade, those are legit complaints. Seriously, where did the idea that the mechanic had to be hot and extremely young come from? I started working on racecars back when I was a small child, but still nowhere near the level of master mechanic. That has been an issue since NFS Carbon, the same game where the story started to derail itself... I'm hoping the story is better than what has been portrayed in the trailer, though, I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't, considering it comes from EA.
Story wise, the best NFS story arcs came from games developed by Black Box entertainment (Most Wanted (2005), Undercover, and The Run). Though I still cannot finish Undercover because the gameplay utterly shits itself 50% into the game on PS3...
Does anybody know who the development studio this iteration of NFS is coming from?

So, console guys, how is it? still some updates to come so I've read, wrap editor looks pretty fun for putting on a personal touch. to be honest, i am not impressed at all. CONS: I was a big fan of underground and underground 2 and this game does not bring anything that reminds or gave me that feeling again. The game is multiplayer ONLY, which means you can do the story but you'll find a maximum of other 7 players driving around. You can do a TON of modifications, but most of the cars does not have any - here you can have an idea of what im talking about: car customization listThere's only two type of races: circuit and drift. Circuit are pretty boring, repetitive, and sometimes i have troubles matching the route because there isnt a clear route. No multiplayer races, you can only challenge another player racing randomly around, if the gap increases you win\lose Car list and car choice is poor. I would've loved to drive a peugeot 208, a polo, ford fiesta, golf gti\r32, toyota celica: like daily driving cars, like it was in underground 1\2 PROS: the game is stunning, graphics are really awesome. There's plenty of reviews around anyway

What bebbo above said is pretty accurate. I completed the game, and 100%'d the trophies on it and after that I haven't really touched the game at all. For me, I would require something to do in it if I want to continue playing the game, which NFS does not offer. Once you have beaten the story missions, you have pretty much experienced everything. The races in the game, like bebbo said, become repetitive quite quickly and once you've driven a couple of 'em, you've basically seen everything. The AI catch up is absolutely annoying too, they're going to fix it in the next update (or so they say) but at the moment in the game: You get in first place, and you start driving around 350km/h in the whatever car that you're driving that goes that fast, you see the AI behind you crash into a car and fall far behind you (and I mean far) then in a matter of seconds, they're right back on your rear bumper trying to overtake you. The same thing goes for when you hit something, the AI sometimes waits for you and lets you pass them easily with no issues or in other cases the AI just takes off and you never seem them again until you restart the mission. The customization in the game on certain vehicles is pretty much a joke too, on some cars, you can customize everything from bodykits to wheels to liveries but on some other vehicles, you can't customize anything, you can just change the color and thats it, which I think should not be the case when we're talking about a game that involves around car customization and the car culture. The game also misses a day-night cycle, I understand that making a game which is only at night time is good in some ways but the constant night and rain can get a little boring after a while, so it wouldn't harm even if there would be a day-night cycle but I highly doubt that is ever going to happen. The map in the game also is pretty decent sized, it's not too big but it's not really that small either. It wouldn't harm if it would feel a little bit more "alive" as right now it feels kinda empty when you only see a few AI cars driving around every now and then. The amount of vehicles in the game is also kinda ridiculous, there really isn't that many vehicles in the game when you think about it. I guess they're going to add more cars in the future with DLC's but those are obviously going to be DLC's that you have to pay for so the people who are only interested in the base game and not spending any more money on the game, won't be able to have any more cars. And not to mention that you can only have 5 cars in total in your garage at once, in a way I guess it's nice that you can only have a few cars to drive around in so that it makes you appreciate the cars you have but it still atleast imo would be better to just have an unlimited amount of cars, so if you want to buy all of the cars in the game, you can do so with no issues. And buying cars brings us to the next part, the car prices don't seem to be that high in the game, which means that you can easily afford buying new cars since you can also sell your current cars, atleast I didn't have any issues buying whatever car I wanted from the car list after completing the game. The customization parts also seem to be pretty cheap, which is a nice thing. But either way, the game of course has its good sides too: the graphics are obviously really beautiful even when played on a PS4/XOne (can't think of what the PC graphics will look like ) and imo the handling was also pretty good. If you're thinking about buying the game for a console, I would recommend waiting for it to be on a sale unless you really really want to play it. I mean yes the game was good fun for the hours that it took me to complete it but after that, it just didn't have anything to offer anymore and therefore just remains in my PSN Library waiting for the game that I play it again However: If you have a group of friends, you might enjoy doing the races with them, as you can do the races with your friends in the game (the circuit and drift races) but if you're just playing by yourself, you will only have the AI to play around with but I don't know how many times you're interested in playing the same type of race over and over again when the only thing that changes is the cars racing with you and the location.

Ed.Venture, nice video and it helped me decide, I'm definitely going for Fallout 4 as my next game, and since PS4 will soon be adding backwards compatibility for PS2 games, I think I'll wait for that so I can play Underground 1 & 2 and Most Wanted on the PS4 instead of this piece of crap. Sure it looks nice, but if there is very limited gameplay, I'm not interested. And why is it a constant Multiplayer? And why can't you adjust the time for notifications? Even GTA allows you to adjust notifications for jobs. The frame drops would be a hindrance. If I know EA, this won't be the last thing they'll do for the game, and those updates will have to be paid, and I wouldn't put it past EA to make them borderline mandatory either. There is a difference between making money, and being greedy. Really, I think I'll wait this one out, it doesn't seem worth my time and money. Also, in the bar scene of that review Ed, what was up with that one guys hair?
