You could paypal one of us the sixty bucks and then we could use that money to buy it as a gift for your steam account.

Yeah, I know, it is what it is, and thankfully it is coming through other stores as well. You can order directly from Bethesda's store, they have it at $60 and Collector's at $120. Here's the link, store.bethsoft.com/books-and-other-media/video-games.htmlHopefully the prices don't change over on this site due to region, otherwise I'd be mad myself...

Well it is $60 but they only ship to the US so no luck there.

Sorry man, I didn't know. Though, I think Ed has the better alternative that should work. I just hate seeing people get shafted on pricing because of where they live.

No need to apologize mate, it was a good idea, not your fault about their shipping policy. Yeah, I like Ed's idea too, just have to learn how to do it. And indeed it does suck especially when it's you being shafted

Guys... I miss it Beta ended today or yesterday and I really had fun playing it. Everything in it is just so rewarding. From winning a one v one or coming in at the end of a fight to clean up 3 hurting enemies or landing a long range snipe and especially using and killing that Revenant!! I really look forward to seeing the other demons they have planned for May. From what I am seeing on the DOOM beta forums though, not everyone agrees with me... Why can't people just enjoy things nowadays?? Why do we have to nerf the Revenant? or buff the Rocket Launcher? and nerf the Shotgun? and everything in between? I was warned by people that had already looked on those forums that there's only bad things but I had to check for myself and indeed, people are salty. I really hope Bethesda don't bend to everything those people are saying. Sure, some of it is justified, like needing some more self damage on the Rocket Launcher cause you could shoot your feet and live as it was. But the Revenant can't be Nerfed, it's meant to be OP! That's what makes it so scary to face and so rewarding to bring down! Rant over.. Mostly just wanted to say I am really looking forward to the full release in May!

Apparently people are unsatisfied that there isn't any hand holding. Here's to hoping Bethesda isn't like Rockstar and nerfs everything people complain about. It was just a few years ago that games had some difficulty to them, and the original DOOM didn't have any such "easy" mode, it was meant to be difficult, you're fighting supernatural demons ffs.
I wonder what John Romero and John Carmac think of the new DOOM. Wish I could've gotten into the beta though, it'd been nice to get some practice in before I'm able to purchase the game.

it'd been nice to get some practice in before I'm able to purchase the game. Apparently Gamestop were distributing codes.. we don't have those here so I might be wrong. ::EDIT:: Also it's gonna be quite a while still before the full game is released so we'll probably all be bad at it again by then

Well you are supposed to be able to live through at least one rocket blast at the feet. It was common in older id games to "rocket jump" to get to hidden places or to get hard to reach items. From what I saw from the beta footage I think it could stand to be buffed a *tiny* bit though. I watched someone blast another player a good three times with it before the other player went down. But it's hard for me to say for certain as I obviously haven't played it yet.
I know as I've been playing Quake 3 again I've found that the rocket launcher is less powerful than I recall it being, and likewise the shotgun is more powerful. I've actually found dominating matches to be simpler with the shotgun overall. It just takes good timing and a steady aim.
I think Bethesda want the game to be more on the oldschool side of Deathmatch, but I can see them catering to the Call of Duty crowd with the armor/weapon customization and level progression system. I think they are scared that if they don't grab at least some of that crowd then the multiplayer will inevitably fail. Personally, I don't play CoD because I hate all of that twitch shooter bullshit. I'm hoping they don't compromise too much and wind up turning it into Call of Duty: Mars Warfare.

I agree the rocket launcher could be buffed, it does 55 for a direct hit, much less if using splash damage. That's two crits to kill someone with no armour and at least three direct hits on someone with more than 10 armour! At the moment it has a pretty fast fire rate but slow travel speed. To balance it a little better they could boost the crit damage to 60-70ish levels or higher and reduce the fire rate. As for the shotgun, it's pretty much used in every loadout so anything changed for it will affect almost everyone. I think they could get away with remaining a tiny bit of range and extending the 'reload' animation between shots. I think damage is right where it should be for a shotgun, they just need to get it where people don't use it as a primary weapon, I think anyway. 2 days later:There will be a DOOM open beta April 15-17! Don't have to have pre-ordered the game or anything. So AzraelRPG and Ed.Venture and anyone else that wants to give it a try, you can! It will have the same content as the closed beta did, SourceThe article also has info on the first DLC, Including three maps, one weapon, demon, armour set and equipment as well as more customisation options. Also, You might be able to pre-load it now. In my Steam library, where it used to say "DOOM Closed Beta" it now says "DOOM Open Beta" but that could just be because I already had it downloaded. Just check your libraries and see if you have anything there, if not then it will probably just show up next week. 8 or so days later (Today):Woo! I love this game! This was such an intense match which came right down to the last kill! Also, triple post but whatever Fixed it!
